Wishing you a safe and happy New Years Eve and a happy upcoming year! Today's photo is based on the cutest little bread I bought at the bakery on the way to work this morning.

And that, folks, completes my daily sketch challenge. I would like to thank you all who have checked me out and especially 'liked' the photos, because it always brightened me up every day. So an extra thank you to Tommy, Fabian, and my mom.

I don't plan to do a daily sketch every day in 2016, but I plan to sketch once or twice a week here. My goals for 2016 include a German diary (which I definitely won't share haha!) and a diary for thankfulness. So I still have daily homework to do :)

Hiked 17km on the Swabian Alb today. Tried to break in my new hiking boots. I have some unhappy blisters on my toes and bruises on my ankles :( Afterwards ate dinner at a sushi place in Reutlingen. Woohoo!

My friend gave me a coupon for Christmas for a 4 course meal at an Italian restaurant. We ended up paying 45 Euro each which leads me to wonder what exactly was saved with the coupon. Was delicious though, with wonderful weather and great company.

I thought this fellow looked funny so I drew him.  It is eaten in the Philippines and in Polynesian countries. It can live for up to 40 years!

In Germany, you can buy hard-boiled eggs at the supermarket, bakery, kiosk, etc. They usually come colored, regardless if it's Easter or not. Pretty practical if you are too lazy to boil your own eggs.

So the moral of the story is not to slack off. My end-of-term project for my correspondence graphics course is due next week and I am not half done. Spent all Friday night doing this :( Now I have to design 5 more products for this stupid fictional company of mine. ARGGGG

 Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great day, regardless of whether you celebrate Valentine's Day or not!! I had a very nice dinner at an Indian restaurant in Leonberg tonight. It is supposed to be one of the more authentic Indian restaurants in the Stuttgart area.  For my Valentine's gift I got a pair of Sennheiser headphones.  Woot woot :D Hopefully tomorrow I can finally get a sketch in :>

Well, last night I met a girlfriend and got drunk so the sketch I made is not worth putting up. So I am putting up a picture of tonight's dinner. If you are curious, a recipe is included.

Chickpea Zucchini Soup

Ingredients:

• Half a can of chickpeas
• Half a zucchini (cut to small slices)
• Cherry tomatoes (5-6)
• Half a red bell pepper
• 200 ml of water
• Salt
• Basil
• Pepper
• Chili powder
• Tablespoon of olive oil

Directions:

1.  Put everything in the pot, heat till it is boiling lightly
2.  Bring the heat down, simmer for 10 minutes
3.  Put contents into blender. Blend lightly (I have no puree stick)
4.  Put back in pot, simmer for 5-10 more minutes
5.  Eat with a nice hard-crusted bun.

My dinner - Maultaschensuppe

Maultaschen is South German ravioli. I used to think they were nothing special but lately I am addicted! The fish maultaschen served at the lunch cantine is horrible though... (it should only be veggies and/or pork!)
