May 25 Sketch

A quick and dirty sketch, trying to be able to sketch in a smaller amount of time.

May 24 Sketch

Well it's been a while since I did a sketch. Here's to all the sheep I saw in Ireland (but sadly didn't get to pet)

May 23

The Cliffs of Moher.
Wonderful view, a must-see in Ireland.

May 22

Went to a 19th century Ireland village attraction. Everyone went to look at the castle but I started hunting for farm animals.

May 21

I love donkeys!! They might even top my love of llamas!!!!

May 20

When the sky is clear it is so idyllic. Here is the quaint town of Adare.

May 19

I guess this doesn't need too much explaining.

May 18

Unfortunately the maximum temperature of the water will be 18 degrees. No thank you!

May 17

Sorry to say, I ate pretty unhealthy during my trip. But these chips in Adare town were AMAZING.

May 16

Killarny National Park.
The clouds always hung low in Ireland. Unlike in Calgary, where they seem to float free far away.

May 15

Endless rolling hills and coastline. When the sun shines, it looks like paradise! I love how it is timeless there. Things stand the way they were centuries ago. The stone walls dividing the land is an example.

May 14

Irish and British pubs have lots of neat nooks and crannies.

May 13

Ross Castle. You wouldn't know it but less then 10 minutes later there was a downpour.

May 12

Blarney Castle.
I didn't want to kiss the stone but when the staff said "kiss it" when I was hanging upside down I automatically obeyed. I don't think I got any better at speaking though haha.

Tonight I got really excited because while flipping through Edward Wilson's sketches of Ireland, he drew the exact place I was, albeit 115 years earlier!

May 11

An old viking town, Waterford. We got rain almost every day, which might be a normal thing to a local but I don't think I can handle the greyness all the time!

May 10

Famine ship Dunbrody, which is a replica of the one which sailed from Ireland to Canada during the famine.

It is sad that people had to suffer in those boats for weeks back then, but think about all the people drowning on migrant boats all across the world right now...

May 9

So one of my highlights of this trip was to see the bog bodies displayed in the National Museum in Dublin. I love archeology and history and mummies. It's too bad I never studied it, because that's what I wanted to do when I was small. But then again I would've been terrible at publishing papers :)

May 8

I am doing this a week an a half later, but the next few posts will be of Ireland, where I toured the last few days. I was on a coach tour, and while the age group was a few decades older than me, the folks were really nice (American and Canadian) and we got to see a lot of the country. So cheers to that with an Irish coffee!

May 7 Photo

May 7 Entry

I had a two-day SCRUM workshop at work. It was pretty fun, especially being able to move things around and play with coloured paper. I think we're all kids :)

The most "stressful" exercise was to make a picture book of Goldilocks as a simulation of SCRUM. Sometimes the most productive time for me is when I am laughing hysterically because I am panicking about time pressures. It's like Project Runway.. make it work moment!!

I don't like chihauhaus but I figured it would be fast to draw since it's already past 11 and I haven't had a break today yet!
